“An Active Shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases, active shooters use firearms(s) and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims. Active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. Typically, the immediate deployment of law enforcement is required to stop the shooting and mitigate harm to victims. Because active shooter situations are often over within 10 to 15 minutes, before law enforcement arrives on the scene, individuals must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal with an active shooter situation. ” USDHS ( United States Department of Homeland Security )

To help local governments prepare for the possibility of an active shooter, occupants need to be able to send and receive alerts during an event of an active shooter specially to first responders such medical services, fire, police department workers updating constantly critical information about the incident and when this communication can not happen inside the building due to poor coverage radio it can lead catastrophic consequences, The FCC (Federal Communications Commission ) estimates that an improvement of one minute for 9-1-1 response time would save 10,000 lives in the US annually
